Holmes chapel hurricanes - Barnton

Great game girls we definitely dominated the first half but the second half they seemed to gain a bit of an edge and did some nice passing play round us.

Positives 

- warmed up well everyone got right into routine and got their heads down  💪🏼

- some great recovery runs all round defence covered well and there was some great runs back from midfield when needed so this is a big improvement from when I first saw you girls play. There weren't any 3s or 2s on one defender at the back. 🤛🏻

- some good passes strung together and better decisions made infront of goal - no major flapping or fluffing occurred 🐥

improvements

- communication - we all know this needs improving some of us need to shout up if an opposing player is rapidly approaching or if someone has time to turn. I do feel this comes from a place of us all wanting to be polite to each other but I know I’d think no less of any of you and rather you bollock down my ear someone’s coming up behind me then have the ball pinched off me as I didn’t know someone was there. 📣

- terminology (just a few) 

Man on - someone’s rapidly approaching or on you

Stand up - stay on your feet and stand your ground, be like an annoying blockade … but a moving blockade,  get on your toes and be a moving brick wall in front of them (sometimes we stretch and shove a foot in get off balance and then they are past us and gone) 

Time - you’ve time to take a touch to control quickly look up and find a team mate to pass too

Turn - there’s space behind you to turn and go for goal and turn and pass to a player 

- we are still doing some panick kicking when we have time to put a foot on it and make a proper pass. Again make sure to shout when someone has time and pick your head up and pick where you are going to pass the ball next

- as free players make sure we move away from the opposing time so you are free  pass TO or we are giving each other no options but to dink it nowhere just to get it away from our goal. (sometimes this is the only option so if under pressure by all means stick your foot through it) 

Overall we need to as Ted Lasso says BELIEVE (if you haven’t watched it on Apple TV it is a mint show you girls would enjoy it - it’s about a football team but a comedy) 😆
