Apollo London FC - Hackney Wick Reserves Fc

After a mixed emotions game where the pitch conditions were not appropriate for the level of the League our Team didn't manage to start the season with a win although deserved it considering the total missing goal chances against the opponent side.

Very sloppy game during the first 10mins for both sides trying to find their steps. Slowly our players started showing their skills and quality resulting to many chances missed before we achieve 2 goals within 5 mins (20th amd 25th min). More chances from our side followed to clear the match from the first half and instead a sloppy period during the last 5mins with our defensive line not being concentrated allowed the opposite side to score at the last minute before the half time whistle.

Second half showed a more challenging for our Team game. The opponent side taking the momentum from the end of 1st half tried to push us by battling on every contentious ball and playing constantly with long balls at the back of our defensive line. Unfortunate moment for our Team loosing one of the side backs at the 5th minute due to shoulder injury. This caused consistency issues problems to the back line   as the opponent side missed a couple of chances before they equalise at the 67th minute. Although more subs from our side made our squad's energy was not the same as the first half making the game very messy. In the last 20mins of the game there was a series of lost classic chances from our Team with the opposite goalkeeper making various saves to hold the  score equal. Last good chance for us at the 90tj minute when our striker sub finished the ball and the opposite CB slided to save the ball 1 meter before passing the score line under a big frustration from our players.

The season is long, as a first official game the generic performance of the Team was promising.
