MR U16 NL Gold 2024/2025 (Market Road League) - LFS

We played in a 1-2-3-1 versus a 1-3-2-1

The first 20 minutes we dominated the match. However, we didn't manage to create many chances of goal. The timings of certain movements that eventually would help us creating the overloads more efficiently. Out of nothing, we conceded. Then, even before the half-time, the opposition could have scored again.

The goal had a negative impact in the team.

The second half, was to  forget (in the moment), but defintely, to reflect after. We couldn't do what we have done for 20 minutes in the first half. Then an early goal in the second half, was fatal, as our players started to lose their patience, resilience, and playing individually. As a consequence, we conceded two more. There was lack of understanding of pitch geography and positioning, we weren't aggressive enough to deserve better from this match.

It is a wake up call for a team that has a lot of talent, but are starting a new era after several years with a great coach. Our players, need to embrace the change, and respect whoever takes over, as in the end, whoever leads this team in the future will do their best to maximise the potential of our players as individuals, and individuals part of  a team.

It is not how it starts, is how it ends. So is time to reflect in what each player can give to the team, assess, review, plan and do!
More commitment will be required, to bring back the levels of confidence to the team.
