U10 Purple - Lillington
Leamington Brakes U10s Purple 11 vs Lillington 1
Brakes put in a magnificent display to thrash local rivals Lillington. Straight from the kickoff Brakes exerted their dominance and create two or three chances in the opening minutes. However, it was Lillington who took the lead against the run of play. That spurred Brakes into life and they hit back almost immediately when Edward fed Artem to slam home. It was 2-1 right from the kickoff when Edward this time fed Sam to fire past the Lillington goalkeeper. It was 3-1 soon after when Artem and Sam linked well with the latter slotting home his second, followed by Artem smashing his second to make it 4-1 inside 11 minutes.
The goals continued to flow and Rufus got in on the goal scoring act with a quick fire double to see Brakes go into half time with a commanding 6-1 lead.
It was much the same in the second half with Sam and Artem both completing their hat-tricks. Credit to the Lillington players for not letting their heads drop but despite some spirited attacks they couldn’t find a way past the ever dependable Joe in goal and with the solid defence of Ollie, Beau and Bertie along with the hard work and tenacity of midfielders like Stefan they were enable to get back into the game. As the game went on, the Brakes coaches were able to experiment with players in different positions and Bertie took advantage by grabbing a well taken goal. Artem continued his fine goal scoring form with his 4th but it was Player of the Match Rufus who stole the show with a wonderful individual effort to complete his hat-trick. A great performance from all the boys to make it 10 games without defeat.
