U10 Purple - Chapelfield Crusaders
Leamington Brakes U10s Purple 6 vs Chapelfield Crusaders 0
Sunday mornings can only mean one thing this season and that’s another win for the Purple team. A flying start saw Stefan (as he himself confidently predicted) open the scoring after just a few minutes when he smashed home Toby’s cut back. It wasn’t long before Toby got on the scored sheet himself when Player of the Match Ollie stepped out of defence, pressuring the Chapelfield’s defenders allowing Toby to race through and slot home. Chapelfields had a brief spell where they threatened the Brakes goal but the defence of Beau, Ollie, Bertie and Joe stood firm. Two nil became three nil when Sam showed great perseverance to get through the Chapelfields defence and slammed a shot past the keeper. Just one minute later it was four when Artem robbed a defender and fired low and hard into the corner. Brakes then found themselves 5-0 when Toby was fouled 5 metres inside the Chapelfields half and Edward stepped up to power home from distance. Rufus nearly added a sixth but his spectacular curling effort went just over the bar.
The second half was generally one way traffic but Brakes could only manage one more when Edward and Artem worked a short corner and Edward let go speculative left foot effort that found the bottom corner. A number of opportunities came and went but it was another great team performance by the Brakes boys.
16 games undefeated, with 5 wins in a row. Great season so far with 15 W, 1D, 1L
