Girls U9's Lionesses - Knowle

The girls faced a good side today, they played an incredible game. Unfortunately, the girls faced a lose.

First half:

The girls started very strong, they played some excellent football. 

They managed to have a few chances in the first half. 

Some excellent forward play, passing and moving and not crowding eachother when driving forward. 

The positional play of all the girls was excellent, they all were in their positions and made sure to retreat and track back when we were defending. 

Unfortunately the opposition did manage to score past the girls on a counter but they didn't drop their heads and they kept fighting. 

Second half :

A change of keeper and a fresh set of legs saw us start looking for a goal again. 

We started to see some through balls breaking open the defensive lines, we just couldn't convert from these. 

Everyone kept together and the football talk on the pitch is getting very impactful. 

Another change of keeper to shift the play more, we started to press and press. 

A ball through to the attack saw an excellent run through on goal just not finding the back of the net. A fabulous save by the goalkeepers face kept us out and we just got beat to the rebound by their defence.

All the girls worked extremely hard. We are starting to see training in action with; passing and moving, through balls and confidence on the ball.
