Girls U11's Wildcats - Kingsheath Warriors Panthers
An exciting game this morning for the Wildcats!
An injury to Arabella after a foul in the first minute meant we had to make an unexpected early change and from our own freekick we were really sloppy to give the ball straight to a Kingsheath player who scored. Not a good start!
For the rest of the half though we were the stronger of the two teams, creating lots of good chances but not taking them, until Maisie fired a shot past the goalkeeper to equalise just before half time. ⚽️
Second half we started slowly again allowing Kingsheath to score in the first minute of that half as well and it looked like we might be heading for defeat when Kingsheath scored a third after 10 minutes. Millie making her debut in goal very nearly saved the shot but probably wondered where the defence in front of her had gone!
15 minutes to go and 2 goals behind, we started to play and looked much more like the team that had won 3 games in a row before today!
With just 5 minutes left to play Maisie scored a fantastic individual goal, dribbling through the entire Kingsheath team before putting the ball past the keeper. ⚽️ That really special goal took Maisie to top goalscorer for the season… but she wasn’t done yet!
2 minutes later Maisie grabbed her hattrick, scoring again to equalise! ⚽️ What a great comeback from the team! 👏
In the last moments of the match Kingsheath looked done for and we were still creating chances to win it, Hollie and Emily both had opportunities to score, but Kingsheath held on for the draw.
