U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Hitchin Belles
Today we made the long away trip to Hitchin Belles. After a tough encounter last time both teams faced each other we knew we were in for a full on game.
The game started fast and both teams were well matched. We passed the ball well and were unlucky to go behind by a couple of goals. Coming from a throw in and scramble in the box.
Second half Hitchin were awarded a free kick and we were slow to react and the ball was in the back of the net before we even got into shape.
We managed to pull a couple of great individual goals back scored by Ja’laysia and Zuzanna. Both were unlucky not to add a few more with excellent long range efforts.
We struggled at times to hold our shape and get back in time resulting in leaving our two centre backs exposed and out numbered. This then allowed Hitchin to capitalise and see the game out.
The girls showed some great resilience today in not allowing their heads to drop when going behind. They all battled hard until the final whistle.
Today’s player of the match went to Ja’laysia. On and off the ball she showed great composure. Whether on the right wing or as the lone striker. Well done Ja’laysia.
