U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Hemel Hempstead
Today the U10 Turquoise made the away trip to Hemel Hempstead for a very early ko.
The game started fast and both teams battled hard to try and get control of the game. Both teams creating a few chances but neither team could capitalise. We had a switch of formation and altered a few positions as Hemels star player was running riot down the right wing. We managed to create a few chances but their keeper dealt with them with ease. Going in at half time Hemel had managed to take the lead but with only one goal separating the two teams.
Second half was like a totally different game. Hemel managed to create chance after chance and made every one of them count. Unfortunately today we struggled in every department and wasn’t the result we expected. It’s never a nice sight to see the girls heads drop.
The last few months the girls have all shown such great team spirit and unity so I know this is just a bump in the road.
As with every game there is always positives to be taken. Zuzanna had a tough challenge on the wing and Lily just behind her supporting in defence. They fought hard and battled all game. Their determination every time they step onto the pitch was clear to see.
Today’s POTM went to Lily.
Each quarter Paris and I spoke about moments in the game and Lily’s name was top of the list every time. From challenges made to her excellent composure on the ball. Well done Lily.
At training we will have a debrief of the game and all regroup. 💜⚽️
