U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Harefield United FC

Today the U10 Turquoise hosted Harefield who we had already played earlier this season but we have a much different squad so we didn't know what to expect for the game.

We started off very well getting in behind and dribbling and passing through them which led to a few shots on and off target, but none too threatening to them. Near the end of the first quarter Lily put in a great corner where Zuzanna was able to flick it in from the front post. 

Into the second quarter the other team started to utilise their fast wingers who were able to get some balls into the box but nothing that Bella couldn't deal with. 

She was distributing some nice balls high and wide just like Ollie and I ask of her, so we can start an attack from the wing as soon as winning the ball back.

Trying to get Ja'laysa and Chloe up the wing to try and cross some balls into the back post to Ella-Louise. She was so close to scoring today, as she was able to take the ball away from her feet and pick a shot out which the opposing keeper dealt with very well. 

When playing short to the defenders Sarah Mia and Lily always positioned themselves well to receive the ball and have their body position open ready to press up the pitch. 

Into halftime Ollie and I gave the team a final push to see the game out and to try get another goal to separate the scoreline. 

In the second half Harefield were passing the ball very well through us but Mia was able to fearlessly win the ball back with ease and knock some great balls out to the midfield and wing so we can get an attack going and separate the scoreline. Unfortunately, the other team hit a long ranged shot which Bella got a hand to and was unlucky not to get a hold of it which put the scores level. Near the end of the game we tried to scrape a last minute goal but to no avail.

Our Potm today was Mia as Ollie and I thought she battled so hard to win the ball back in the defence and did not stop and has come such a long since she joined us and looks confident on and off the ball
