U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Welwyn United

Today the U11 Turquoise hosted Welwyn United for our first game of the season. 

All of our previous encounters have always been very tight games and today was to be no different. 

The girls all turned up with great attitudes and warmed up really well. This positivity showed straight away in the game.

First half we managed to create some excellent passages of play leading to some great shots on goal but Welwyn’s keeper managed to deny us any reward.

Half time the game was level but I was happy with what I was seeing on the pitch. I asked the girls to go out and keep the same focus.

Second half of the game we continued knocking on the door but it just wasn’t going to be our day. Unfortunately within the last few minutes of the game we managed to concede two late goals. 

Until the last 5 minutes we played some great football and there were so many positives to take from the game. 

The scoreline really didn’t reflect our performance. 

Today’s POTM went to Lola 🏆

She oozed confidence in defence. Her composure on the ball and vision to pick out some great through balls was excellent. 

Well done to all the girls today. You all put in a great performance that you should all feel proud of! 💜⚽️
