U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Hemel Reds

Today the u10 Turquoise hosted Hemel Reds.

Being our fourth encounter of the year with Hemel we knew we were in for a tough game against a very fast paced attacking team.

Paris and I decided to change things up today and go with a more defensive formation.

First half of the game we held our shape well and was great to see our 3 defenders communicating well. Our wide players won the majority of their battles and made some great blistering runs up the wing.

We created some great chances and were unfortunate not to capitalise. 

Late in the second quarter we unfortunately went behind. 

Second half of the game the girls knew when they went out how well they were all playing and their chance would come. 

Ja’laysia with another great run in from the right wing came close with only the Hemel teams post in her way. Zuzanna next on the opposite wing with a low shot across goal just inches wide. 

Bella was called into action on multiple occasions in the second half making some great diving saves.

Thea with a great driving run through the midfield played the ball off to zuzanna. 

With a lobbed ball she found Ella waiting. 

A quick spin on the last defender she pulled us back into the game. ⚽️

Final few minutes of the game both teams conceded corners and came close to netting the winner.

A great game today where the girls battled for every ball. After creating the most chances we were unlucky not to get the winning result. This has been a fixture where we have been on the loosing side 3 times this season so the draw today showed just how much they have improved as a team. 

POTM today went to Bella.

Great communicating with her back line and some excellent saves as well.
