U15 Turquoise 24/25 - Bedwell Rangers U14 FC Sevilla

Another cold and wet morning for the U14s but finally a home game! This week saw an early kick-off against Bedwell Rangers U14s.

After a tough game the weekend before and a disappointing performance, followed by a frank discussion at training we were hoping for a much improved performance.  And we certainly got a reaction for the girls.

a very close end to end first half saw us, through Naz hit the post and the team go close on a couple of other occasions before going a goal behind just before the break.  The girls competed for absolutely everything and worked so hard and were unlucky to be behind at half time.

The 2nd half was much the same and again we put Bedwell under a lot of pressure at times and again Naz went the closest with a great effort that just went over the bar.  We conceded a dubious penalty half way though the second half but our GK Eva made an unbelievable double save to keep us in the game. Unfortunately as the game wore on we run out of steam a bit and Bedwell grabbed a couple of scrappy goals as we were trying to chase the game. The scoreline definitely did not tell the story of the game and if we had nicked 1 at 1-0 or 2-0 down  I think we may have got something from the game! We know we need to up our fitness levels and need to start taking our chances but we can take great heart from the much improved performance.

I as Manager, and Stuart as Coach (who got to see the girls in action this week) were really proud of all the girls and the performance they put in.

The opposition gave their Player of the Match to Eva and Stuart awarded our Player of the Match to Megan our right back. Special mention to Bryony our Captain for a fantastic performance at Centre Half as well.
