RP U9 NL 2024/2025 (Regents Park League) - TGFC

First of all, it was a pleasure to lead this team in this match.
The boys and girl, engaged on listening to the pre-match instructions. Through the game against a team who we have lost badly in November, all were outstanding.
They gave everything, and they kept the game balanced through pretty much the entire game. Even though we conceded the 1-0 with 2 minutes played.
Our U9s still had a few chances to do the equaliser. However their goalie did a bunch of very good saves.
At the second half, we were unlucky with their second goal, with the ball from a corner touching one of our players bouncing it to our own goal. Even with 2-0 the team never gave up, and ended up with the reward of scoring the 2-1, increasing the hopes of everyone. Then, an enormous error from the referee, personally "killed" our chances to take the match to penalties. He decided to give the opposition a goal from a ball that didn't cross at all the goal line.
Nevertheless, our players kept showing an amazing attitude and joyment for the game, and thought until the end. However, after their 3rd goal, our players started playing more with their hearts than with their brains, so even though we still could have scored we also could have conceded more goals.
It was their first Semi-final in their short career... I have no doubts if these group of players keep on enjoying the sport whilst training and playing, great achievements will come in the near future.
