RP U7 NL 2024/2025 (Regents Park League) - Queens Park Leopard Sharks
I couldn’t be prouder of this team! Despite starting the game with a player short due to two late dropouts, the lads gave it their all in a challenging match. We adjusted to a 1-2-1 formation, and the game was close right from the start. Our players defended brilliantly, showing great determination to keep the opponents at bay.
After 10 minutes, the opposition took advantage of their extra player and managed to take the lead. However, our response was immediate—we equalized quickly to make it 1-1. The first half ended with the scores level.
In the second half, the opposition stepped up their pressure, making it difficult for us to clear the ball from our defensive third. As a result, they scored two quick goals, but the team didn’t give up. We fought back, making it 3-2 with a well-taken goal. The opponents then made it 4-2, but once again, we showed incredible spirit and made it 4-3.
In the final five minutes, the boys put a lot of effort into finding an equalizer, running tirelessly and pushing forward. Despite coming close, we couldn’t quite get the goal we needed. The game ended 4-3, but the result doesn’t fully reflect the heart and determination this team showed throughout.
Playing with a player short for the entire game, the players covered the extra ground brilliantly, working together as a unit. I was especially impressed with their defensive work when out of possession and the passing combinations that helped us move the ball effectively from defense to attack.
Thank you to all the parents for their fantastic support once again. We’ll take the positives from this game and continue to build as a team. Onward and upward for the next match!
