Goalkeeper

Tyler stepped in to cover for the absent Rylee who wasn’t available due to illness. Tyler started a bit shaky but grew as the match went on, he made several saves during the game but neither team worked the goalkeepers greatly in the first half hence the 0-0 at half time. Second half seen a bit more action and he conceded 2 goals due to several missed tackles.

Reserve goalkeeper training will start with Tyler on Tuesday to give him the best chance possible when covering for Rylee.

Defence

Logan, Lucas, Stephen & Jamie were all selected for the start. First half seen Earlestown work mainly down our wings and seen the full backs struggling against the speed, but they managed to hold them back with the support of the centre backs and midfielders. At half time we made some changes bringing Jack on for Jamie and moving Logan to left back. Second half seen several gaps in areas for Earlestown to attack leaving the defence vulnerable and several missed tackles led to Earlestown’s goals. Emotions seen the better of one player leading to the Referee showing him the red card. Arron filled in at the back for a short time while we worked on the best formation. After about 15 mins Dylan H was brought to right back.

Midfield

Arron, Euan, Jayden & Dylan M were all selected for the start. First half midfield did well going forward and back with Euan breaking most of Earlestown’s attack allowing for the other to push on. Dylan M had a great half working down the left and trying to produce for the attack. Second half seen much of the same but due to the red card a change in formation was needed and a midfield was sacrifice. Arron was moved to right back for a short period of time before moving to attack. Leslie made his debut for Dylan M which give us a high level of energy in the midfield of Jayden, Euan & Leslie. Both Leslie and Euan sat to allow Jayden to push on and after around 72 mins Jayden got his goal.

Forwards

Ben & Davey were selected for the start. First half seen both working hard and feeding the ball wide for the wingers to attack. Neither where able to really test the goalkeeper. Second half seen some interesting challenges from Earlestown, Davey was running out of steam, and he was substituted around 75 mins for Dylan H. Dylan H was moved to right back and Arron was put up front with Ben. Jayden hit many shoots across goal but unfortunately neither Ben or Davey where able to get a foot on the end of one. Arron was moved to attacker around 75 mins and shortly after he was able to get hold of the ball from scrappy defending and cut in to hit the ball from around 20 yards with his left foot and it finished in the bottom corner.

Over all a good performance from all.
