Great performance from the lads at weekend, with playing a tier 1 side who have only lost once this season, we knew it was going to be tough, all I wanted was the lads to get some experience playing a top level team, plus to do themselves justice and that they did.

The plan was to frustrate the hell out of them with a solid defensive structure with two holding midfielders, they've never played this system before but you wouldn't of thought it with it being just 1-1 after 30 mins, we did frustrate the hell out of them 👏 , but a couple of wonder goals, one straight from a corner, then a free kick put in to the top corner, this is why they are in tier 1, so going in 3-1 at half time, the lads heads could of gone down, but no they were just as solid in the 2nd half, the probs was the opposition were keeping and passing the ball a lot better than us, so understandably with us chasing the ball down more than them, our fitness started to struggle, hence they were finding more space and time.

Parents man of the match was Hugh, a solid consistent performer, I don't think he's had a bad game this season always strong in the tackle and strikes a great ball, he is going to be massive for the team in the run in and trying to nick ourselves a promotion spot.

My man of the match was Marley, playing the 2nd holding midfielder for the first time, he could of crumbled, but he was everywhere not just getting stuck and breaking there play up but also having composure on the ball when needed, we just need to keep this lad fit and get him on the pitch more and I'm sure he'll be hitting some more good form on the run in.

Couple of shout outs:

Nathanial shown that he's not just about scoring goals, with system having know wingers, he was all on his own up front, I asked him, to come short to get in to the flanks, hold the ball up all to help take the pressure of our defence and he didn't let us down, them tier 1 defenders knew they were in a game playing against Nathanial 💪.

This one is a duo shout out for our wing backs Rohan and Tyler, being up against tier 1 wingers, faster more skillfull and generally better players than there used to, there's a chance they could of had a epic fail but no they put a couple of solid performances in they should be proud of, their fitness levels are improving all the time and once we get our 3rd wing back fit (Archie) then this is a position we're fully covered in.

The fact there coach sent me a message saying how well we played and that they had to work hard for it, says a lot and the lads need to take that confidence in to the rest of the season 🏆
