U17/8 JPL 24/25 - Stevenage Starlets

Away v Stevenage Starlets. 

We started slow today and the first 10 minutes we struggled to contain the opposition, who were by far the brighter team. The girls seemed to wake up and started to get back in the game resulting in a corner. Remi drilled in a lovely cross which hit their defender and went in 0-1.

By now we were dominating and on 30min the ball fell to Grace on the edge of the box and she smashed it in off the bottom of the cross bar! 2-0. With Goffs pressing for a third the ball bounced around in Stevenage’s goal area, resulting in a hand ball. Remi stepped up and cooly  scored 0-3. The first half finished with the girls clearly on top.

Second half started with us again dominating but a lapse in concentration at the back let Stevenage in 1-3. Within a few minutes Remi cut in from the right and smashed a lovely goal top right 46min 1-4. The game was won by now and we were playing with confidence. On 60min the ball dropped to Megan outside the box with a cracking looping shot which hit the roof of the net 1-5. Remi continued to dominate down the right and cut inside their defender who clipped her foot, resulting in another penalty. Up stepped Remi and slotted it away cleanly 1-6.

Finished 1-6.

A big shout out to Sophie who stepped in to play keeper this week, great performance.
