Girls U12's Lionesses - Arden Forest
CTC Kingshurst academy was the venue for our game this week, and on the back of a great performance last week the girls did not disappoint.
We played some lovely football from the start with some neat passing and movement.
Playing on an excellent 3G pitch the girls really enjoyed a great first half going into half time leading 0-1 thanks to Mimi, tapping in using great initiative following in on a shot after good save from the Arden Forest keeper.
Lacey playing striker this week was next to add to the score to take her tally for the season to 8, with a tidy finish from a cross from the right.
Emma was dominating the midfield and did add to the goal tally with a long range right foot free kick past the keeper.
It was Sophia’s turn next to hit a great shot from distance past the keeper only to bounce down off the bar and back out into play.
At 0-3 the home team struck back with a smart finish, not long followed by another which made it an exciting end to the game.
Emma made no mistake of the result with her second of the game and 17th of the season from central midfield.
Elysia had a great game today, showing amazing confidence and superb footwork to really showcase her skills throughout the game. Really pleasing to see !
All the girls worked their socks off today, Peyton and Amalia worked hard in defence to keep a skillful centre forward under control.
Mona followed up her POM last week with a good energetic performance, and strikers Layla, Mimi, Lacey and Jess offering lots of effort and movement to the forward line.
Bella was good as always in goal with good saves and good distribution.
Coaches POM - Elysia - as above great confidence and great attitude today.
Parents POM - Myanna - always giving 100%, willing to learn and always up for a tackle.
Collectively a really top performance and nice to hear complimentary comments from the opposing coach.
As always very proud of the way the girls conducted themselves on and off the pitch today.
Keep up the good work
