Girls U11's Wildcats - Hollyfields
A huge thanks to Hollyfields FC for arranging the 4G pitch to make sure today’s match went ahead with most matches cancelled this weekend!
The Wildcat’s unbeaten run continues after a draw against a lively team. We had a very slow start to the game, maybe a bit rusty having not played for 3 weeks, which resulted in Hollyfields taking the lead after 2 minutes. Maisie got us level though with a very good run and finish shortly afterwards! The opposition commented how impressed they were at full time.
At halftime we talked about needing to put more pressure on the opposition when they have the ball and Rosie did just that to steal the ball from midfield before a great individual run and cross caused all sorts of problems for Hollyfields and resulted in an own goal to give us the lead.
Hollyfields equalised from a corner shortly afterwards.
Well done to both Brooke and Tilly for volunteering to play in goal in each half - you both did great!
Brooke playing in defence in the second half really got stuck in and was strong throughout!
Overall an even game and a draw was a fair result.
Well done to everyone - let’s aim for back to back wins from the next 2 home matches!
