Away Khalsa U7 Lions VS Stockton Juniors U7 Thunder

Match Report: U7 Thunder vs. Khalsa Lions – Saturday, October 12th

Location: Away

The U7 Thunder team celebrated a well-deserved victory today, showcasing their consistent improvement over recent games.

First Half: Khalsa Lions kicked off the match, and for the first five minutes, both teams appeared evenly matched. However, Stockton soon found their rhythm. Excellent passing from Oliver T and Hughie R created a great chance for Jude T, who narrowly missed. Stockton’s quality began to shine through with impressive passing and movement, leading to goals from Oliver T and Hughie R.

Colby P was outstanding in goal, making multiple saves as Khalsa fought back. Solid defending from Rory W and Louie H kept Khalsa at bay, with both players effectively playing the ball out from the back to initiate more Stockton attacks. Liam R’s clever passing and a neat through ball from Bobby J set up Hughie R for his second goal. Rueben M-J and Louis C were formidable in defence, with Louis C bulldozing his way through to score. Bobby J’s relentless effort paid off with his first goal of the season from close range.

Second Half: Khalsa started the second half aggressively, but Liam R’s strong defence, supported by Rory in midfield, kept them out. Rueben M-J took control with excellent tackles and forward runs. A well-weighted through ball from Jude T found Rueben, who finished confidently.

Stockton’s quick thinking at set pieces, with kick-ins from Louis C, Louie H, and Oliver T, kept them in Khalsa’s half. Rueben M-J, at the heart of everything, scored his second goal after a quick turn and shot. Despite Khalsa’s efforts, Colby P made more quality saves and distributed the ball well, allowing Stockton to maintain control. Rueben M-J’s hard work led to a chance for Jude T, who lifted the ball over the keeper to score.

Overall, it was a solid team performance by Stockton, earning a well-deserved win as a reward for their recent form. Great job, team! MOTM – Rueben M-J  PPOTM – Louis C
