U11 Comets - Staines and laleham youth

Our away game vs Staines and laleham youth was set to be muddy due to the past few days of heavy rain but luckily the sun and wind helped reduce the wet and muddy conditions.  We had a full squad for only the second time this season and everyone was eager to get another win for the comets. 

span class="Apple-converted-space"> but this was closed down by Comets and kicked out of play by Henry. Another Break by Staines after we lost the ball in the goal area after an attempt on goal by Comets , two of their quick players worked past our defence and scored making it 1-0 .

After the restart the ball was passed to Zaeem who ran down the wing with the ball and crossed to Alex who just missed the goal with his shot which turned out took a deflection from a S&L player. -Both coaches impressed by this as we had tried this tactic on Fridays training session.  Alex returned the favour from a corner crossing to Zaeem but his shot was blocked by the defender .

2quarter -

Dylan working 100% to not let the ball be taken by the opponents and managed to pass the ball to josh who had his shot blocked by the Keeper. 

After another attempt to equalise from our players - Josh with a cross from the wing ( again the tactic we tried in training on Friday , perhaps we should call this tactical play the Mr Whippy  ) , the ball come across the goal to Fletcher who crossed back to Zaeem and unfortunately hit it over the bar. 

Will in goal was having a great game working well with our defence and producing some great last second saves to deny S&L . 

3quarter -

Dylan went in goal and Will took up the striker’s position. 

Dylan with a great save not long after the quarter starting and plenty more was to come but Dylan wasn’t letting them score another. 

We won a corner after another one of our shots was put out of play . Alex took the corner and luckily for us it went in off their player and made it 1-1 . 

4quarter and the game was getting tense with both teams wanting the winning goal but eventually the winning goal went to S&L making the final score 2-1 to Staines .

Player of the match went to Dylan for his hard work all game in goal and outfield , never giving up and the urgency to win the ball back.
