Girls U11's Wildcats - Vision Vixens

Wildcats are into the Autumn cup final after the most dramatic of semi-final matches!

We started the game well on top, almost scoring immediately from kickoff. Isabelle got the opener after 5 minutes before Maisie scored a fantastic long-range freekick to make it 2-0 with just 9 minutes played - we were all set for a comfortable morning!

Vision were growing into the game however and grabbed a goal back with 10 minutes left of the first half and then scored an equaliser right on half time!

Vision were now on top and took the lead shortly after the restart. We now needed a phenomenal team effort to turn the game around.. and a phenomenal team effort is exactly what we got!

Maisie’s cross found Isabelle who headed the ball past the Vision keeper to equalise. Shortly afterwards Hattie thought she had scored but the offside flag was up before Isabelle claimed her hat-trick with a powerful finish. 4-3 with 15 minutes to play and a tremendous effort from every single player to keep Vision out. Rosie and Millie in particular made a number of defensive clearances.

30 minutes had been played but the referee played on and awarded Vision a penalty for a handball that was definitely ball to hand!! Step forward Elsie with a fantastic penalty save to deny the Vision striker! 👏👏🧤🧤

Still the referee played on and eventually Vision found their equaliser! We were heading for extra time but we almost didn’t need it when Lily-Rae escaped the defence and shot past the keeper.. it looked like the ball was headed for the far corner but it went narrowly wide.

Extra time - and Maisie scored the deciding goal with an awesome freekick from the edge of the area! Huge celebrations at fulltime!!

Bring on the cup final - we’re going to give it everything we’ve got again and it will take a very good team to beat us!!
