U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Welwyn Pegasus

Today the u10 Turquoise made the away trip to Welwyn Pegasus.

All the girls warmed up really well with some great passing and shooting.

The game started fast and we made sure we were first to every ball. 

Thea made some great runs up the wing beating her player every time. One of her best games of the season so far. 

Ella and Chloe combining well on the other side and switching roles. 

Welwyn managed to play a few diagonal balls through to their striker but Lola and Mia dealt with the pressure well. 

Lily started as our centre mid today. She was calm and kept her head up always looking to play the balls out for the wingers. 

Bella didn’t have much to do in the first couple of quarters as we kept our shape well and had most of the possession. 

When she was needed she made some great saves and her long distribution was on point. 

Ja’laysia came on and had a massive impact on the game. The oppositions coach even came over at the end to personally mention to her about how impressed he was with her play. 

Playing out wide on the wing for two quarter’s she made some great driving runs through their defence and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet today. 

Zuzanna switching with Lily in the centre added some fresh energy to the game and battled hard to win every challenge. 

We created lots of chances today and were unfortunate not to capitalise. Their keeper had to make some great saves and kept us at bay. 

Unfortunately late in the game we were caught out at the back when passing between each other Welwyn put us under pressure and managed to score a scrappy goal. 

Today’s result may not tell the true story of how the game played out but the girls can hold their heads up high knowing how well they played.

Today’s player of the match was a tough call as every girls played well and battled to the very end.

Lola made some great driving runs forward from the defence. Looking more confident every week on the ball. In 1v1 situations she got herself goal side every time and made some great challenges.
