Boys U15 (2010) Premier - Rathangan

Another midweek match and second match in 3 days, but again the lads delivered and continue to hunt down the league leaders, Kilcullen.
Just 2 points behind with 3 games to go, it is all to play for.
Rathangan, despite being bottom of the table showed huge heart, guts and tackled everything that moved in a blue shirt tonight and made it very uncomfortable for Naas in the first half.
The opener came after 8 minutes via a corner. Adam Bracken whipped in a great ball to the back stick which was met by Donnacha Hickey, who headed home from close range. Naas huffed and puffed but could not find a rhythm against their determined opponents. Naas finally got the second midway through the half. Aaron O Donnell found a pocket of space on the right, got the the head line and delivered a great ball in, which was finished well by Kian Lawlor.
Naas dropped down a gear and Rathangan had a couple of half chances from set pieces, or were dealt with by James Lennon.
Second half was a different story and the boys raised the intensity and work rate massively. 3 goals in the first ten minutes killed the game off.
Oisin Lynch won a great tackle in the middle, and played a class ball through the Ned Keogh, who took one touch and buried in the bottom corner. The next arrived a few minutes later. Adam Bracken and Max Galvin worked a nice short corner routine, Max found himself in space in the box, and hit a rocket into the top of the net.
Naas continued to press and following great work down the left by Aaron, he got to the byline and unselfishly laid the ball to Ned on the 6 yard box, who did the rest, and got a brace for his evenings work.
Good all round performance by the team, especially the second half performance.
We go again next week!!!!
