Girls U10's - Coundon Court

Away vs Coundon Court  Red this morning. It was great to get the game on after the pitch was deemed good to play. 

It was a scrappy but competitive start but Stockton soon grew into the game and took the lead on the 10 minute mark with a good finish from Ivy.

We created numerous chances but found their keeper was 

having a fine game in goal. Ivy also flashed a few shots wide, hit the post - on another day these would have gone in. 

Rebecca, having a fine game herself burst forward and hit a shot which went just wide. 

As half time approached Coundon drew themselves level after a lack of concentration in defence. All square at  the break and all to play for. 

A good start to the 2nd half for the girls with Edith and Amelia going close with a good efforts saved by the keeper.

 Daphne was having a great game, working hard in a defence/midfield role busying herself around the pitch. 

Harriet & Molly did a switch with Harriet playing outfield and Molly the GK for the remainder of the game. 

Stockton regained the lead after a pin-point throw in from Harriet found Ivy in space to tuck away her shot. Final score 2-1.

A hard fought win but based on the chances created it was thoroughly deserved. 

An entertaining game for all involved. Well done girls.
