Match Report: Naas vs Newbridge
Naas produced a commanding performance against Newbridge, securing a memorable victory in a physical and entertaining encounter.
First Half Highlights:
Naas came out of the blocks quickly, with Kate narrowly missing the target in the opening minutes. Kayley tested the Newbridge keeper from distance with a powerful shot that was tipped over the bar, while Rosie also came close to opening the scoring.
At the back, Naas were rock solid. Laurel, Faye, and Grace provided a dependable defensive line, snuffing out Newbridge’s advances. In midfield, the tireless trio of Kate, Zara, and Katie dictated the tempo, with Kayley proving to be a constant threat in attack.
A pivotal moment came just before half-time when Lauren pulled off a brilliant save to deny Newbridge. Moments later, Naas broke the deadlock—Zara’s assist found Kate, who coolly finished to give Naas a deserved lead at the break.
Second Half Highlights:
Naas picked up where they left off, and it wasn’t long before Kate struck again — this time with a sensational free kick that left the keeper no chance. The game grew more physical, but the bravery of Kayley, Katie, and Rosie, who all picked up knocks, kept Naas on the front foot.
Fresh legs were introduced with Evie, Alanna, and Julia coming off the bench to maintain the intensity. The standout player of the day, Kate Gallagher, completed her hat-trick with another excellent finish to put the result beyond doubt.
It was a superb all-round display from Naas, marked by teamwork, determination, and moments of individual brilliance. Congratulations to all involved!
