Great home match against very friendly opposition. Grass Pitch 3 was in good condition and the weather was overcast but still and cold. Steve did an excellent job as ref!

Whilst sometimes the coaches are briefing information it seems some players aren't listening, clearly the instructions were received... Passing was shorter, there was no risky passes across the box (CB to CB), distribution from corners and GKs was better and I heard more player to player calling. Well done.

Oppo were well drilled and full of good players. They had a good break away that often left us short at the back. We seemed to lack a bit of energy today, and didn't make much effort to get to 2nd balls or get back to ensure we weren't overloaded. We all need to keep an eye on this; 4 oppo needs a minimum of 4 of us. We can't just look around to see who else is doing it, just get back asap. More def is better than less! It always seemed like we had a player less as a result.

With regard to winning second balls: We made loads of effort to get near the player and ball, but then seemed to stop and didn't ANTICIPATE where the ball would go next. We were therefore second to much of the play. Just adding the 10% extra effort may have been what we needed to change the game.

at 4-2 I thought we may have a comeback. We were playing well at stage so it defo could have happened. Probably energy levels sent it the other way.

Some great defending and goalkeeping on display, often using body weight to turn away from our goal and keeping ball safe. There was some iffy moments with marking goal-side of the oppo. This was the most common call from the coaches.

In throw ins: we often threw down the line (good) but receiver tried to take a touch or knocked it back towards our own goal. Sometime let it go over our heads, turn and run towards oppo goal (like a through-ball). Be aware of who is marking you and break-away at moment of throw.

Our attacking break-aways were very good. I often saw two options in front of the person on the ball. If it wasn't for the oppo's very good defence we'd have got a few more goals from this excellent play.

Keep your heads held high; much of a game-play is improving and we compete in every game. Well done all.
