Girls U11's Wildcats - Kenilworth Kestrels

First cup game experience for the team today and an important one between the 2 teams mostly likely to win the group.

We were in control and the better team for the first 23 minutes of the match and we looked on course for a win before Kenilworth grabbed the all important first goal of the game followed immediately by a second and unfortunately our heads dropped. Very similar to what happened in our game last week.

We gave it our all in the second half but needing goals we had to push forward and that left gaps at the back. Final score very harsh on the team but well done to Kenilworth. All we can do now is win our remaining matches, both at home with our excellent referees.

We definitely deserved a goal for our efforts throughout the match and a real shame we couldn’t have grabbed one at the end to finish on a high.

Arabella was immense today - especially in the first half - brilliant strong defending and the deserved winner of the player of the match and parents player of the match.

Group award to Emilie-Rose, Brooke and Maisie for sharing goalkeeper responsibility for the team. 👏
