U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Bury Rangers Lions
Today the U10 Turquoise made the away trip to Bury Rangers.
On arrival all the girls seemed full of energy and fired up. They couldn’t wait for the game to start.
For the warm up we did some simple passing so the girls got a good feel for the pitch after all of the rain and made sure they got lots of touches on the ball.
After our last match against Bury Rangers we knew we had to up our game and the girls certainly did just that.
First half of the game neither team managed to create too many clear cut chances but we battled hard and kept the possession well.
Bella in goal, confident as ever made sure her positioning was always perfect. She made some great saves and her distribution was always on point.
Lola, Mia and Lily in defence always finding great passes forward. When they were in 1v1 situations they oozed confidence always managing to get goal side of their opponent.
The main thing that stood out for me today was everyone’s work rate and desire to be the first to every ball. Having all 11 players meant we had lots of fresh legs and our tempo never dropped.
On the wings we rotated between Harmoni, Thea and Chloe. When in possession they made some brilliant runs managing to put some great balls into the box.
When winning the ball back they all tracked back and tackled well.
Second half of the game we went out and upped the momentum even more. The way we were playing it was only a matter of time before we were rewarded by a well taken goal by Ella-Louise.
Zuzanna and Ja’laysia with their brilliant skillfull footwork made the centre of the midfield their own. Always using their strength to hold the opposition off and finding great forward passes for the wingers and striker.
The defenders and Bella at the back communicated well and were great all game allowing the centre mid and wingers to constantly keep pressing up the pitch.
Not long after Zuzanna scored with a great shot from outside the area that bounced just in front of the Bury keeper and put us in control of the game.
Ella-Louise and A’ja played half the game each as the striker. They were a constant threat for our opponents always being on their toes making great runs into the box.
Final quarter.
The only thing Paris and I asked the girls to do was go out there and keep doing what you’re doing. Hold your positions well and none stop pressure.
Harmoni floated a perfect corner into the box to reach Ja’laysia. Their keeper managed to stop it just in front of the line but Zuzanna’s great positioning allowed her to tap it in the bottom corner.
These last 3-4 matches the girls have progressed so well and today they took it to the next level. Everything was faultless.
Player of the match was a tough choice today as a lot of the girls put in their best performance of the season so far. But me and Paris both agreed on Ella-Louise for her great positioning and constant runs to find space was excellent today.
