U17/8 JPL 24/25 - Ickenham Youth

GOG U16💜🦩💜 The girls had their first away game of the season against Ickenham youth. We starting the game and the girls set the pace but it wasn’t easy with the opposition breaking through with balls over the top and getting several one on one opportunities against our keeper Amy who saved everything that was thrown at her making some brilliant saves. We received a corner and the girls attacked but was denied by a clearance from the defence that rolled into the feet of Nicole, Nicole took a strike from outside of the area and buried it into the bottom corner we was 0-1⚽️up after 15 minutes. This goal raised the girls heads and we continued to battle it wasn’t long before Remi got her first goal in the 33rd minute ⚽️we increased our lead just as half time was approaching. 

Second half was underway and the opposition came out attacking and hitting the post denying a goal. Our girls returned the attack and Megan increased our lead  to 0-3 in the 53rd minute ⚽️. The girls continued to counter and break through to goal which unfortunately was unable to beat the keeper. We was on the defence when the opposition managed to break through and score against us making the score 1-3⚽️in the 70th minute. Our captain Lola encouraged our girls to keep their heads up and away we went from the centre charging towards goal unfortunately we was denied the goal by a hand ball call but received a penalty instead. Remi steps up to take the penalty kick and it was a goal into the top right increasing our lead by 3 goals shortly after conceding. With the game coming to an end the girls continued to press and see the game out to the end resulting in Megan getting her 2nd goal⚽️of the game in the 78th minute and what a goal it was flicking the ball into the top corner with the outside volley. The final whistle blew what a result for these girls.
