U14 Stallions - Knaresborough Celtic JFC U14 White
The game started at a frantic pace against a skilful, very vocal and enthusiastic Knaresborogh Celtic. Whilst Horsforth were into the game from the opening whistle, Knaresborough perhaps had the better of the initial exchanges. That all changed with a free kick 10 metres out from the Knaresborough box delivered by Emry and which pretty much evaded all players from both sides, sailing in to the net to put the visitors a goal up. Despite a superb long range equaliser from the half way line to go over Horsforth’s defence and keeper before half time, Knaresborough never quite regained their initial confidence. A second free kick from Louie in the second half curling into the top left corner sealed Horsforth’s dominance. Three more goals came; a forceful pivoting shot from Shahab, a defensive error allowing Louie in for his second, and a rebound slot in for Shahab after Knaresboroughs keeper brilliantly parried Henry’s penalty attempt. The game had the feel that it could have gone either way, but with the psychological battle won relatively early, Horsforth pressed home their advantage with a clinical away win.
