U15 Yellows - Yorkshire Amateurs
Super start to the Yellows season with a 2-0 victory against a very physical Yorkshire Amateurs side.
Bit of a shaky first 20 minutes whilst we got to grips with the physicality of the opposition but once we settled and started to play, we found gaps and opportunities that we could exploit.
Our first goal, bang on half time, was an outstanding team goal. We played out from the keeper, connected through the lines with a switch of play and found ourselves breaking through the oppositions defensive line with a superb pass from Adam and an unreal finish into the top corner from Jack, just inside their 18.
At the break, we analysed the half together and a change of formation was implemented to upset the oppositions strengths and flow. This gave us more stability within the midfield area which, was now man for man and as we were now playing with 2 forwards, I tasked one of them with playing into a false 9 position which, gave us an overload centrally when needed and also, support for the other 9 when attacking
This tactic worked beautifully, and we scored another brilliant goal within 7 minutes of the restart. George finished across the keeper into the corner with an assist from Jack.
The opposition threw everything at us, and we battled well. We even introduced ‘tactical fouls’ into our game management plan, preventing them from counter attacking quickly or getting into dangerous positions. However, for the last 10 minutes, we played quite a few ‘suicide’ passes across the front of our 18-yard box that could have caused us problems, but we dug in and defended as a team, with lots of passion and desire to finish the game victorious.
Well done lads, let's build on this and look forward to the next game.
Proud of you all!
