U13 Yellows - Sheffield United Women U14

Very good performance from the boys today against a good footballing team.

The boys started with some great ball movement, playing out from the back, finding some great attacking areas, and creating several chances. This was rewarded with a penalty which was well saved by the keeper.

We kept the pressure on however and were rewarded with a goal in the first quarter scored by Aiden Newsome.

The second and third quarter the game was really stretched with both teams going back and forth in attack and working to recover. Both teams had several chances, and the brief downpour didn’t help too much during this time. We had some great chances that were well saved by their keeper and Sheffield were rewarded for some good play with an equalizer.

The final quarter came down to effort and desire and it was great to see the boys high pressing together to win the ball back high up the pitch which got rewarded with our second penalty of the match, Nico Stevenson slotting the ball home.

As the game opened up we had several chances to put the game to bed which was thankfully taken with 7-8 minutes to go when Aiden Newsome again found himself one on one with the keeper to slot home calmly.

Overall, very good performance and team effort.
