Girls U11's Wildcats - Vision Vixens
A great game today and a really well deserved win for the Wildcats against a Vision team that have won all but one of their matches so far this season.
With such a new team, we knew at the start of the season that we would be a bit behind other teams but were always confident this group of players would catch up. The girls have learnt so much in this first round of fixtures, undefeated in their last 3 games and should be looking to press on now after half-term.
Maisie was the standout player today winning the Player of the Match, Parents Player of the Match and Player’s Player of the Match. She scored the only goal of the game mid-way through the first half with a ‘mazy’ run down the wing, into the box and a great finish past a very impressive Vision goalkeeper. ⚽️
Vision did have chances in the game but Hollie kept them out in the first half and Emilie-Rose in the second with some great goalkeeping.
We created chances throughout the game and should really have scored again to make the game more comfortable, Emilie-Rose, Rosie, Tilly, Emily, Lily-Rae all had great chances to score.
The Vision goalkeeper produced one of the best saves we’ll see all season when Emily’s powerful shot from the edge of the box was heading straight for the top corner. The keeper leaped up to claw the ball out of the air and even managed to hold onto it. It was an awesome save! 💥🧤
Maisie had another run through the Vision defence towards the end of the game hitting the post.
Big celebrations from the whole team and supporters as the referee blew the final whistle.
Well done Wildcats! 💪
