Boys U10's Lightning - Sporting Rugby

With the boys working hard in training, and really keen to get the season started, there was a real positive atmosphere as the boys were warming up for the game.

From the KO, our game plan went perfectly in order as we scored three goals in the first 7 minutes thanks to some perfect passing and clinical finishing from George which was maybe the quickest hat track of the season already!

Stockton continued to pile on the pressure throughout the first half but were unable to find the back of the net due to some good defending and goalkeeping from the home team.

The last 10 minutes of the first half Stockton eased off the pressure and were rightfully punished for switching off. Charlie saved a penalty after a crunching tackle from Rocco was a few seconds too late. As the half came to a close, the home team were rewarded with a goal that they deserved.

Stockton started the second half having recharged and raring to. The passing and moving football was a joy to watch, with Charlie scoring from outside the area. The home team began to tire as Stockton stepped up another gear, with Ethan and Albie adding to the goals.

Sporting Rugby continued to play some good football until the final whistle, but today was too much in a game that was one sided.

The boys really have started the season in fine fashion, and we are all looking forward to the season ahead. They work hard in training, and got their rewards in this game.
