Boys U13 (2012) Premier White - Kilcock
Naas travelled to Kilcock for a 12 o'clock kick of in the second round of the SFAI Cup.
Both teams lined out on the all weather pitch, a venue that has not always been kind to Naas. Playing into the autumn sun in the first half Naas started slowly with Kilcock racing behind the Naas defence and unleashing a powerful shot which brought out a fine save by the Naas keeper Hayden Taaffe.
The game ebbed and flowed with chances at both ends until finally the ball broke to Kaspian Zielenski on the right. Zielenski rode a few challenges before cutting the ball across the 6 yard box to an unmarked Ben Cox at the back post for a tap in. 1-0 Naas.
The second half continued along the same vein as the first with some attritional play by both teams. The ball was played in behind the Naas defence with the ever dangerous Kilcock striker latching onto the through ball and unleashing an unstoppable strike into the bottom corner. 1-1 and game on.
After an unfortunate injury forced Kilcock into an unforced change. This must have unsettled the Kilcock team as Naas seized the momentum and began to push forward. A through ball to Kaspian Zielenski saw the midfielder drive into the Kilcock box to fire the ball low and into the Kilcock goal. Kilcock pushed forward looking for an equaliser but it wasn't to be.
