Apollo London FC - Camden & Islington FC

After a stressful and tough game, Apollonians managed to achieve another win, the third one this season.

Although in the first 20 minutes the game rolled without any remarkable moments, the first big chance was missed from our attacking midfielder failing to score face to face against the opponent keeper. The period between the 25th and 35th mins belonged to the opponent side who tried to threaten from long free throws, corners, and foul kicks around the perimeter of our large box area. In one of their corner kick attempts, Camden & Islington Reserves striker won the battle in the air and scored after the ball first took a curvy orbit and slightly touching the bar ended in Apollonians' net. The boys didn't lose their confidence, reacted quickly, pressed the opponents at the second half of the pitch, and managed to equalise with header as well. Crossing from the left side, jump at the right time and ideal header from our striker nailed the ball in the opponents net. The second half started with a sub from our squad aiming to bring freshenss in the front line. The man of the match for this game was the Apollonian attacking midfield who scored the second and winning goal at the 52nd minute after taking a parallel pass a few metres off the opposite large box area and tried a straight strong strike. During the last 30 mins the game became very physical with many battles for first and second balls to be constantly taking place. Camden & Islington Reserves started gaining more space in the pitch and pushing the boys at the one-third of the pitch. The opponents missed two good opportunities to equalise during the last 10 mins, the Apollonian keeper performed in excellence making two great saves against short distance finishes from the opponent side.

The last whistle found the boys celebrating the victory after having committed their heart to turn back the score against a very physical and strong side.
