Girls U12's Lionesses - Lillington
A great group performance saw the lionesses run out 4-1 winners against a resilient Lillington team.
Goals from Lacey, Layla and Elysia saw us 3-0 up within 10 minutes.
Jess made our first with a backheal to Lacey for a cool finish before hitting the post herself.Â
A classic Layla finish saw us two up before a lovely goal from Elysia made it 3.
Lillington grew into the game, 3 of their 7 players being the year below, but this didn't stop them from standing up to a well organised Stockton midfield.Â
Bella had very little to do but was alert and distributed the ball fantastically.
Captain Peyton was awesome in defence, neutralising chances and playing out from the back.
Elysia put the game to bed with another fantastic goal to make it 4-0. With her and Mona cutting the Lillington midfield apart with a number of lovely runs and passes.Â
Lillington scored with the very last kick of the game to make it end 4-1.Â
Both coaches agreed that player of the match was Hazel. She had her longest spell on the pitch thanks to a much smaller squad this week and grew into the game with her best performance to date. She never stopped running, made some great tackles and passes.
Layla received parents player thanks to her explosive performance in the first 10 minutes to fire us into the lead 🔥.
Special thanks to Nigel for refereeing the match. Much harder than it looks.
