Rising Hope Mambas (year 6 Sept 2024) - Aztec Braves

Aztec Braves 2-1 Mambas 

Horrible cold and windy conditions today on a heavy pitch didn't help either team play football, the game was quite scrappy. 

Although the Mambas started well, Aztec's scored with their first attack, we didn't clear our lines and a swerving shoot from wide right went in. 

However, Mambas dug deep and with a couple minutes of the first half left, a great through ball from Dom found Oscar P running through one on one with the keeper and he finished well. HT 1-1 

The second half was fairly even throughout, both keepers pulling off some good saves to keep it 1-1, but Aztecs got the winner with 6 minutes to go. A bit of a kick and rush move, the attacker broke in to the 18 yard box, Mambas had plenty of players around the ball but no one made a clean tackle or clearance. The ball broke across the six yard box and their striker finished an open goal. FT 2-1 

The Mambas worked hard but we lacked quality in our passing and our tackling/defensive play was not to our standards today.
