U10 Blue | Mark Clapham - Bradford Park Avenue AFC Juniors

In a highly competitive U9 match, Garforth Villa Blues faced off against Bradford Park Avenue AFC Juniors. 

The first half was intense, with Noah guarding the goal and a 2-3-1 formation on the field. The spectators were treated to an exciting display of skill and determination. Bradford managed to take the lead with one goal at halftime.

The second half continued with Charlie in the goal, and the formation remained the same with a change around of players. It was a lively half with both teams showing tremendous effort. Garforth struggled to create goal-scoring opportunities, while Bradford extended their lead with another goal. Despite the score, Garforth maintained their positive attitude and kept pushing forward.

All players performed tremendously well today, but the spot light shine’s on Ben Barrett who was flawless in defensive and managed several attacking runs with the ball, successfully taking on several of Bradfords players to create goal scoring opportunities and most importantly working his way back into defence quickly and effectively! 

In summary, it was a challenging match against a formidable Bradford team. 

Bradford showcased a solid defense and impressive attacking plays. Garforth played with an open style, attempting to utilize the flanks and create goal-scoring opportunities. However, they often found themselves closed down by Bradford's resilient defense, making it difficult to get shots on target. Despite the outcome, Garforth displayed determination and effort, which is commendable.

Although the final result may not have reflected it, the match was closely contested, and a draw would have been a fair outcome. Facing determined teams like Bradford requires a focused game plan and execution. As coaches, we will use this experience to enhance our training sessions and guide the team's development specifically what was learned from this tough and competitive game, there were moments where we were a bit slow of the mark and lacked the long crosses and movement of the ball the team has executed perfectly at their previous game, but the team showed resilience and deserved a draw.
