U11 Cougars - Bedfont eagles

FC managed to see out a 2-1 win over a win over a very strong Bedfont Eagles U17s.. sorry U9s. 

A very physical match, both teams having to dig in. But set pieces were the key today. 

Eagles took the lead with a fantastic towering header at the back post - a very impressive finish. The goalscorer wheeled away kissing the tattoos of his children's names on his arm (not really but that kid was MASSIVE). 

Cougars didn't let up. The new corner routines fired high across the box almost ended in goals, but it was a whipped set piece from Harvey that was turned in at the near post by the defender that got Cougars back on track. 

The third quarter was a war. Both sides had some great chances but Eagles blazed two shots over the bar that looked like certain goals. 

Early in the fourth quarter Cougars managed to break through. A fizzed in corner from Rory on the left ricocheted off two defenders and nestled in the corner. 

Hearts were in mouths at the end as Harry Oswin unfortunately handled just outside the box. Luckily the Eagles striker smashed the free kick over the bar. 

A lot to learn for the Cougars boys today, but most importantly dug in and got the win. Supporters Player of the Match was Harry Oswin.
