U13 Orange - Coundon Cockerels

Coundon Cockerels 2 - 6 U13 Orange.

I really can't praise todays performance enough. The boys were on it from the 1st whistle til the last.

Same opposition as last week, with the difference being the intensity from the 2nd half last week being carried on into this game, which we'd spoken about at training and before ko today .

It was a physical battle with some very dodgy ref decisions,  but the boys didn't let it affect them.

They just carried on playing their football and let the opposition fall out with each other.

Apart from a 10 minute spell when they scored their 2 goals, we pretty much controlled the whole game.

Strong and compact in defence,  linking play well through midfield, and rapid in attack.

Lots of candidates for coaches MOTM today....

Charlie - unbelievable saves in 1v1 situations,  especially a couple in the 2nd half when Coundon were threatening to score. 

 Both George's for putting in some great tackles in defence. 

Toby for keeping their no.7 quiet for the whole game, after he was such a threat against us last week, so much so, that their no.7 got sinbinned for dissent through frustration. 

Really enjoying watching Toby grow in that CB role this season.

Sam C and Az linking play so well through midfield,  playing with their heads up all the time to set attacks with their forward passes.

SamF fast and direct,  scaring the opposition with his pace. 

Ruben taking on ⁨Tom Ryan⁩s challenge yesterday after collecting development phase POTM trophy, to get a hatrick today......scored in the 1st minute.

For me though, it came down to Kieren and Ezra.

Kieren was immense at RB, reading the game and ball so well to stop opposition attacks.

Ezra just pipped him though....he put up with a lot of dirty tactics against him today.

Time and again he was fouled, but he kept getting up and playing, with the ref even congratulating him on keeping his cool during the 2nd half.

Well done boys.

Let's keep that intensity for the rest of the season.
