Girls U12's Lionesses - Coventry City Red U12's

Great game this morning vs a strong Cov City Red team.

We were without our superstar goalie Bella today and we send her and all family our best wishes.

We asked the team to create 4 x volunteers to step up and play 15 mins each in goal. After a few nervous minutes of discussion we had our 4 keepers nominated for the game, and they all did themselves proud !

Erin went in goal for the remaining 15 mins of the first half and wasn’t troubled with any opponents attacks. Gracie came on at right back and showed some lively touches, and good link up play with Scarlett which looks like a partnership that could blossom.

Second half started with Sophia taking on goalkeeper duties, her first time ever in a competitive game so well done to her !

We shuffled players around to try and get back into the game after the opponents went 2-1 up.

We had a couple more chances to get back into the game but eventually ran out 1-5 final score which didn’t reflect the overall game but maybe I’m biased !

Elysia and Layla worked hard throughout the game in attack.

Mimi put in a great performance both in defence and attack, all our goalies were superstars and all players not mentioned all put in great effort today, just wasn’t our day !

Well done to all and thanks to the parents for their support on the sidelines.
