U11 Comets - AFC Brooklands
Our home game this week was against AFC brooklands who had beat us at the start of the season so this was our chance to get revenge on our previous loss.
We started slowly but both teams equal in opportunities to attack .
We quickly won a Corner , which was taken by Alex and crossed into the box where the ball lands perfectly on Henry’s head to bounce back in the net 1-0 .
Good quick passing from the brooklands players lead to a goal to equalise 1-1 .
After the restart we was on the attack once again , Alex running with the ball and chips the ball onto the top right corner of the goal , but luck was on our side and it rebounded back to Thomas to make it 2-1 .
Again we continued to put pressure on the opposition and a Cross from josh to Thomas who was waiting in the box rolled away from his feet before he could hit it. This then led to an attack straight away from brooklands where they made it 2-2 .
Again quick play by brooklands leads to another goal for them 3-2 .
Brooklands again putting us under pressure and a Power shot from their players heads just over the bar . Will made some good saves to deny them any more goals in this half .
After half time it seemed our players heads dropped and our pace slowly melted away . Under pressure once again brooklands crossed the ball from their winger which then went past 4 of our players and was tapped in the net by their midfielder. 4-2
We showed we still had a bit of a fight left in us as a cross from fletcher to Alex led to us getting a goal back to make it 4-3 .just before the end of the third quarter we conceded another unfortunate goal.
In the final quarter we seemed to slow our pace down which allowed Brooklands to get another two goals past us . With our captain Dylan now in goal putting in a brilliant performance this stopped brooklands from taking the lead even further.
We managed to get another goal back just before the final whistle via Alex which now makes him top goal scorer for the comets this season.
