U13 Purple 24/25 - Harefield United
💜U12 purple v Harefield United 💜
With 3 injured players and other players not available, we found ourself once again with only 9 in our squad for this week.
Prior to kick off we spoke about dedication to the game and to the team and about the importance of playing with everything we’ve got to keep possession of the ball and create chances to score. With no subs we needed the team to really push today and they didn’t disappoint.
On kick off we pressed straight forward and although the passing wasn’t great to start with, we could see the girls were putting their all into the game.
after the first 10 mins, we started seeing some momentum build. Holly was in midfield running box to box and trying to create chances for the team and then her time came. She made a great tackle, kept possession and saw her chance to make a cross to Tiarna. Tiarna ran onto the ball and with a great strike she smashed the ball into the net. ⚽️
Now we started to improve our game. The ball mostly stayed in Harefields half of the pitch, but when the ball did enter out half our defence was on fire. They were running out tackling with everything and locking down the ball.
with some good team work we saw our passing improve and 25 mins in we saw another great goal this time by Nyah. ⚽️

Half time team talk was to carry on doing what we just did and not to be scared to go in for the tackle. Ella was in goal today and was pretty unwell, but she wanted to stay in goal as she knew how much we needed her. 💜
on kick off we definitely upped our game a notch. We were really making Harefield work for the ball and we were passing and communicating really well.
10 mins into the second half Gracie was working really hard up front. She’d taken a couple of shots but just couldn’t get the ball past the keeper. Then with a strong kick to Tiarna she saw an open space and shouted at Gracie to run. She made a beautiful through ball to Gracie who took control and scored!! ⚽️
We then conceded a goal as the ball was passed out from goal but went straight to Harefield who didn’t hesitate, took a shot and scored.
With only 5 mins left of the game we knew we’d only get a couple more chances to score. Sarah made an amazing run down the wing and crossed the ball to Nyah who tapped the ball in to give us our final goal of the game ⚽️💜🦩
what a great game that was to watch. With no subs again the girls worked their socks off. They promised to step on that pitch and show real commitment and that’s what they did.
