Girls U12's Lionesses - Coventry Godiva

U11’s Lionesses signed off their post season 9 a-side friendlies with a home game vs Coventry Godiva. 

Playing at home on pitch 4 the girls enjoyed the extra space available on this pitch.  The game started with The Lionesses getting early control of the game, Emma and the returning Sophia from illness made tidy work of breaking up the play and setting us off on our attacks.

Everyone was on top form and taking on board what the coaches pre-match chat with the need to communicate more between each other, was great to see shoots of better communication starting to develop. 

The girls were controlled in their play and was nice to the intent on trying to pass and move our way around the pitch.

Emma and Layla both scored hat-tricks to finish their season, and Mona scored two great goals to end her impressive season on a high.

Erin put in a really great performance in her new right back role, taking on board advice about the role,  and really aiming to get involved in the game at every opportunity was very pleasing to see.

Elysia also had a great performance especially the second half when her tricky and mazy runs were a joy to watch. There was a superb solo run and pass to set up Mona for one of her goals and was very unlucky not to score after a mazy run past the opposition.

All girls played their part in this and was a great team performance.  Nice to see Sophia back playing and unlucky not to get on the score sheet herself.

Bella again was excellent in concentration and distribution, Peyton & Lacey strong in defence, Emma & Sophia bossing the midfield, Mona, Elysia and Jess working up and down the wings, and Layla working hard up top.
