MR U16 NL Gold 2024/2025 (Market Road League) - Regents Park Rebels
A very difficult game.
Two similar formations. Both teams fit in each other formation. In the first half, we managed to get some good movements. The first goal was a brilliant play, to be fair more like a goal we would see in a 11 aside match than a 7v7 one. Great cross, great header.
After the goal, overall we controlled the game, but we struggled in creating clear chances to score. Defending wise, we didn't compromise much.
Second half, we allowed the opposition getting more ball possession. They needed to get the equaliser. We were solid, and control their movements. From time to time, we had good transitions, where just the definition of the play could be better to give us the two goal gap.
The second goal came in the last five minutes of the game. Then, the team suffered together, stay compact, and kept a clean sheet.
The very positive thing of this game, was the fact , the team didn't shake through all the time the score was 1-0, as it is a tricky score, a momentum can turn things around. That increased their focus which led to a very good result.
