RESILIENCE

In what was both figuratively and literally a game of two halves, Calcio Select came back from 0-2 down to win 4-3 versus UFCA, touted to be some of the toughest competition in the division. 

Unusually for this group we didn't win the physical battle in the first half, allowing a good opposing side the opportunity to play through the thirds with ease. This resulted in two goals and a missed penalty in the first half, without much from Calcio in return. 

After some tactical changes and a focus on physicality and technical high press, Calcio dominated the second half, with UFCA unable to live with the pace and combativity of especially our midfield; with Charlie, Matty B and Jack taking charge of the physical battles and setting the tone of play. This allowed the likes of Joel the space and time to play into our front three, creating high quality chances in the final third throughout the second half. 

I think you will all agree that the second half took both resilience and courage to turn this game around, resulting in a hard fought and deserved victory.
