U11 Turquoise 24/25 - Broxbourne peacocks
Today we made the short away trip to play Broxbourne for another early kick off.
Ollie and I thought we started off the first quarter the best we have all season. We looked very solid as a whole, by implementing Lily as more of a defensive midfielder in front of Mia and Eloise who were excellent all game and going forward we had some good shots stopped by some great saves from the oppositions goalkeeper, who was our Player of the Match.
As the game went, on we started to see these things less and less and we regressed back to what we've seen in previous weeks where we could not even tell what formation we were playing due to the lack of tracking back and sticking to our given positions which exposed so much space for the opposing team and left our defenders usually on their own and having to deal with overloaded counter attacks.
By the end of the game it really looked like we had all given up. We've got to remember that we win as a team and lose as a team so the work we put in is for our teammates too and today we didn't see enough of this.
We will work on these things together and let's stick together through this season.
Player of the Match: Eloise 🏆
She never gave up, always gave constructive critisism at half time and isn't scared to let her teammates know what she expects from them. She carried the ball very well through the match and had to be solid today in those 1v3 situations.
